Van Assignments

Thanks to everyone who could make it to the meeting on Friday. We had a great time and here are what the teams look like.

Some people have chosen which leg they want to run, and the rest will be decided among the runners in your van. The van leaders are as follows:

Each van/group will need to find their own vehicle. You will also need to provide your own food. Last year we just took a cooler and everyone brought their own food/snacks/drinks. Make sure to have enough WATER for the sizzling hot days. You can decide with your van how you would like to make it work.

I would suggest bringing a sleeping bag and pillow. Also, you will want to change your clothes a couple of times. Plan on cold weather at night (it was a lot colder than I expected). Email your van leader, or Ben or me with any questions.

We have three volunteers so far and need three more. If you know anyone who would be willing to help, let us know asap. There aren't many slots left to choose from. Thanks to those volunteering and helping find volunteers!

Legstrong Armstrong Women are registered!

If you need to make a substitution simply login and click the edit icon in the "Sub Runner" column. This will allow you to substitute one team member for another. There is no charge for substitutions made before April 30, 2009. There will be a $10 late fee for substitutions made after April 30, 2009. There will be a $20 late fee for substitutions made after May 31, 2009. We will not be able to change t-shirt sizes after April 30, 2009, but you will be able to exchange t-shirt sizes at the finish if sizes are still available.

Three Volunteers per Team

All LOCAL teams must provide three (3) volunteers for the race (van drivers do not count as volunteers). Teams are considered LOCAL if they have 1 or more team members within 100 miles of any point on the course. If no one on your team lives within 100 miles of any point on the course you do not have to provide volunteers. Each team is responsible for ensuring their volunteers show up at their appointed times and fulfill their tasks. If a volunteer cannot report, it is entirely up to the Team Captain to find an alternate and make sure they report to their appointed job site. Failure of a volunteer shift to be fulfilled will result in automatic team disqualification without appeal. Beginning mid-June volunteers will be able to sign up on our web site for specific shifts that they would like to work. Shifts will last no longer than 7 hours. Responsibilities may include traffic control, exchange point management, setup and takedown etc. Every volunteer will receive an official race t-shirt, sponsor goodies, and snacks.
